Ring Size Guide
Finding the right ring size is essential — especially for a surprise proposal. Here's everything you need to know.
How to Measure at Home
You don't need to visit a jeweler to find your ring size. Here are three reliable methods you can try at home.
The String Method
Wrap a thin piece of string or a strip of paper around the base of the finger you plan to wear the ring on. Mark the point where the string overlaps. Lay it flat against a ruler and measure the length in millimeters. Divide this measurement by 3.14 to get the inside diameter, then match it to the size chart below.
The Existing Ring Method
If you already have a ring that fits the correct finger well, place it on a flat ruler and measure the inside diameter in millimeters. Compare your measurement against the conversion chart below to find your size.

Tips for Accurate Sizing
Keep these factors in mind to ensure the most accurate measurement possible.
- Measure at the end of the day when your fingers are at their largest
- Measure multiple times on different days for consistency
- Consider the width of the band — wider bands fit tighter and may require a half size up
- Temperature affects finger size — cold weather makes fingers smaller, warm weather makes them larger
- Your dominant hand is usually slightly larger than the other
